Surah Ibrāhīm (verses 1–5) open the chapter with a majestic declaration of purpose. These verses introduce the Qur’an as a Book revealed to bring humanity out of darkness into light — from ignorance, disbelief, and oppression into the illumination of faith and truth — by the permission of Allah, the All-Powerful and the Praiseworthy. They remind that Allah’s message has always been consistent: every prophet was sent in the language of his people so they could clearly understand the truth. Prophet Mūsā (Moses) is mentioned as an example — sent with clear signs to guide his people from the darkness of Pharaoh’s tyranny into the light of divine freedom. In essence, verses 1–5 establish the Surah’s central theme: revelation as the light of guidance, the contrast between divine truth and worldly arrogance, and the continuity of all prophetic missions leading back to the same source — Allah, the One and Only.
