​Gibraltar celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee this long weekend with a 42-gun salute, the Jubilita food festival and the lighting of a beacon at the Tower of Homage. The local festivities came as official events in London marking the monarch's 70th year on the throne saw much pomp and pageantry, as well as a spectacular "Party at the Palace" Jubilee concert. Her Majesty has issued a statement saying she was "humbled and deeply touched" by the celebrations. And she says she remains committed to serving the country to the best of her ability.
