Holden V8 Supercar - Thunder Saloons - Race One - Brands GP - 28/06/25 - Super Touring Power 3 - Finished Second. Unfortunately, despite having thought we had got to the bottom of the GoPro 9 over heating and shutting off partway through the races, it seems we had not, or it was just too hot. So this is only part of the race. Day one of the Super Touring Power 3 event Brands Hatch on the GP Circuit ended with a couple of extra trophies, but it wasn't easy. We started qualifying on a fresh set of slicks, which needed afew laps to scrub in. Unfortunately, after two laps the saftey car came out due to a car stranded in the gravel, before that could be recovered another car broke down and they red flagged the session. We never got a chance to put in a flying lap and started 8th. Race One and Alex was on the outside of the grid, then the usual issue of not being able to get on it until the tyres come up to temp. This dropped us back to 12th. Once there was actually some grip to press on, the big Holden started picking off cars and was up to 3rd with one lap to go. This is when there was an unfortunate incident. Hot on the tail of second place Andy Robinson in his AU Falcon, they had slight contact (the lightest touch, with no damage), which, turned Andy around. Turning left and with the rear unloaded, it didn't take a lot to unsettle the car. A complete accident and a sad racing incident. First place was too far up the road to catch on the last lap. We did finish second, however with Alex feeling so bad about the contact, he handed the trophy to Andy.
