At an early stage you need to make a decision as to whether you want to have a heated tank (to support most tropical fish) or whether you want an unheated aquarium (that would suit a limited number of tropical fish species). A heated tank is probably the easiest approach to help prepare your water environment and to grow the beneficial bacteria ("cycling") so that it is suitable for the addition of fish. Please see my video "Adding Fish" which covers the subject of cycling and the development of beneficial bacteria Mark Step-by-Step biOrb Aquariums #stepbystepbiorb For advice, please feel free to contact me directly through the Comments on this Channel.
