Recorded on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. As one might judge based upon the clips featured in the open (a mom feeding her child, a kid riding a bike, a park), the stories tend to be fast paced and focused on lighter features to cater to a predominantly female audience, presumably one who might have kids, such as consumer and human interest stories, plus weather and brief news and sports segments. WOAI has utilized this format for its 6:30 news since around 2015 (roughly the same time longtime #1 station KSAT 12 launched its own 6:30 newscast; while its 6:30 news also contains lighter stories it is still structured as a more traditional newscast than WOAI's attempt). Before then, the 6:30 newscast, which WOAI had a monopoly on prior to KSAT launching one, was a straightforward traditional one (WOAI has had a 6:30 newscast since 2010). Graphics are Sinclair's standard "Curves" package, music is their group theme from Warner Chappell Production Music, and Chris Corley is the voiceover artist. Anchored by Michael Garofalo (filling in for usual anchor Randy Beamer tonight), Delaine Mathieu, and weather from chief meteorologist Albert Flores.
