Select Kia vehicles are equipped with Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control – or NSCC. NSCC helps by automatically adjusting vehicle speed when driving on highways by using information from the navigation system. There are two additional features of NSCC. HIGHWAY SET SPEED AUTO CHANGE, adjusts the cruise control speed when the posted speed limit changes. And HIGHWAY CURVE-ZONE AUTO SLOW-DOWN temporarily decelerates your vehicle to help you drive safely around a curve. To activate NSCC, go to the SETUP menu on the infotainment system screen and press VEHICLE… You’ll see DRIVER ASSISTANCE and VEHICLE SETTINGS… Select SMART CRUISE CONTROL… Then select either BASED ON DRIVING MODE or BASED ON DRIVING STYLE to adjust the cruise control settings accordingly. Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control will adjust the vehicle speed on a highway based on navigation data. To activate this feature, go to DRIVING CONVENIENCE… Then select HIGHWAY AUTO SPEED CHANGE. When the Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control operating conditions are met, a WHITE indicator will be illuminated. A GREEN indicator will illuminate when the HIGHWAY SET SPEED AUTO CHANGE feature is operating. When the posted speed limit changes, the new set speed will be displayed on the instrument cluster, and an audible warning will sound. If SMART CRUISE CONTROL is set to a speed higher than the posted speed limit, then the HIGHWAY SET SPEED AUTO CHANGE function will be in standby mode. With the HIGHWAY CURVE ZONE AUTO SLOW-DOWN feature, the vehicle will decelerate into the curve… And then automatically accelerate back to the set speed. Remember, NSCC is not a substitute for safe driving practices – it is the responsibility of the driver to always follow posted speed limits. Be aware of the surroundings and drive safely.
