Atomfall invites you to survive and forage through an alternate 1960s version of the British countryside. One that can truly be explored your own way, from multiple angles and directions. You wake up in a bunker with little knowledge of who you are or what you must do. Eventually, you're forced to leave and explore the dangerous, irradiated outside world in search of answers. Along the way, you’ll be placed directly in the sights of various dangerous enemy factions and robots, testing your ability to survive. Familiar a premise it may be, yet despite the ways Rebellion’s British sandbox might seem similar to the Fallout series on the surface, it’s not long until such comparisons quickly fade away since Atomfall is far more trusting and freeform than Bethesda’s take on the post-apocalypse – not to mention more beautiful and welcoming to inhabit. It’s a game that’s refreshing in the way it encourages you to discover stories and unravel its central mystery in your own preferred way, giving it a slight edge over its genre peers.
