Sembrando cambio: Pedro Medina at TEDxGuatavita

Pedro Medina is a Colombian who decided to make a difference amidst a profound indifference situation. After a twenty years corporative career which took him to the presidency of McDonald´s in Colombia, he decided to dedicate the rest of his life to be a catalyzer, a change agent, towards the construction of a different Colombia. He leads Yo Creo en Colombia, an organization with 1,700 members around the world. In his talk Pedro, through marvelous tales, advocates for the need to ask different questions in order to have new and meaningful answers. He introduces us to the transformation generated at La Minga Casa Gestante, a consciousness amplifier center in the Colombian mountains. Through different activities and projects, like the trueque (exchange) fair which gathers more than 1,200 rural and urban habitants, to share and exchange what the other needs, profound transformation emanates. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
