Redesign 2025/2026 Kia Sportage - Release Date 2026 Sportage!

Kia engineers have been observed testing prototypes for a refreshed Sportage expected to arrive in showrooms next year as a 2026 model. The existing Sportage, available since the 2023 model year, is Kia's top-seller, with U.S. consumers purchasing 140,780 units last year alone. This means Kia is likely to avoid making drastic changes with the forthcoming mid-cycle update for the compact crossover. The prototypes are heavily disguised, but a new front end with vertical headlights, reminiscent of the updated 2024 Kia Sorento, is clearly visible. There are also revised designs for the front fascia and grille. The rear design has also been modified, as evidenced by the new taillight graphics, which, like the front lights, appear to feature a more structured design. While there isn't a clear view of the interior, we can anticipate a more streamlined dashboard with a floating display for the digital gauge cluster and infotainment screen, similar to what is found in the Sorento and newer Kias, such as the recently unveiled EV3 electric subcompact crossover. Given the recent increase in demand for hybrid powertrains, we can also expect the updated Sportage's engine options to be as varied as the current lineup. For the 2025 Sportage, Kia offers three powertrains: a 187-hp inline-4, a 227-hp hybrid, or a 261-hp plug-in hybrid. Expect a debut in early 2025, with sales in the U.S. likely starting in the latter half of that year.
