Beth is one of the millions of women in the UK living with a period related condition. “At its worst, my period pain is completely debilitating,” she says. “I think it would be great if people were able to say ‘I have period pain’ with embarrassment” It took over 20 years before Beth got her diagnosis of endometriosis and adenomyosis. Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb starts to grow in other places, and also bleeds every month. Adenomyosis is when the lining of the womb grows into the muscle wall, which can cause heavy, painful and/or irregular periods.
