FEAP Smartchat: the Fish Feed Challenge

With the combined increase in cost as well as sustainability requirements, feeding fish never has been such a challenging task. It is also a key driver for the transformation of the industry which must adapt to making more with less. The fish feed is therefore at the crossroad of economic survival, environmental sustainability, food security and ESG (Environmental Social Governance). This 4th SmartChat aims at sharing with FEAP members the most up-to-date vision, hints and inspiration from the worldwide expertise of IFFO, The Marine Ingredients Organisation. IFFO is an international trade organisation that represents the marine ingredients industry, such as fishmeal, fish oil and other related industries. Its 250 members reside in around 50 countries, account for over 55% of world production and 80% of the fishmeal and fish oil traded worldwide. IFFO is an accredited Observer to the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). With topics such as omega-3 content, plant-based feed, precision nutrition or the impact of AI and automated system on feed efficiency, the SmartChat will also address the global roundtable on marine ingredients.
