Idiopathic constipation is one of the most common gastrointestinal problems in pediatrics, with a spectrum ranging from mild to severe. Although there’s no cure for idiopathic constipation, most patients do well with standard medical treatments like laxatives or changes in diet, with only 1% of severe cases requiring surgery.
