SRS Gemona Skywalk - Task Six - 55Km - Goal Final task of this great competition. Gemona delivered unexpectedly, against the initial forecast 6 fully valid and beautiful task! Many thanks to the team and the task committee that came with wonderful ideas for task, good combination of viciously fast ridge runs and tactical flatland flying, culminating with the 93km task to Medunp and back which, for me was new territory and opens a new route for future XC! The race was good and started with an amazingly scenic waiting for start soaring the north side of the clouds, pushed upwards by the northerly strong wind. That advantage rippled through the whole task as the other competitors had to scramble to coalesce and catch up. In the end 2 other strong excellent climbs with Pal brought us faster in goal, ahead of the groups. The factory trim did not help me to keep up in the glide but I am quite happy with my focus on decisions and climbing today. Dinner, raffle draw (nothing for me there, staying just lucky in love) and then driving through the night towards the higher mountains, the mighty Dolomites!
