Ariel Meyerowitz is a professional art advisor with 34 years of experience working in the field of contemporary art and photography. Founded in January 2006, Ariel Meyerowitz Art Advisory guides new and seasoned private collectors and corporations on their quest for contemporary and vintage photography, contemporary painting, works on paper, Objets d’art, and sculpture. Ariel tailors her curatorial approach to each collector’s interests, resources, and long-term goals. Whether the plan is to acquire a single work of art or build a significant collection, Ariel employs a discerning, impartial eye, utilizing scholarship, connoisseurship, and her extensive relationships in the art world to help each client make the most informed decision possible that suits their aesthetic and maximizes their investment. Before establishing her Advisory, Ariel owned her eponymous photography gallery in New York City from 1999-2005. During that time, the gallery’s exhibitions and artists were regularly reviewed in national newspapers and magazines and profiled on major local and national TV and radio programs. She was also the Associate Director of James Danziger Gallery in New York City from 1995-1999, preceded by several years in San Francisco working in an art non-profit, a photography gallery, and as an art critic for a local newspaper. Ariel is the daughter of photographer Joel Meyerowitz and painter the late Vivian Bower. She was born and raised in New York City and spent much of her youth in artists’ studios, galleries, and museums, following after her parents. She now lives in Brooklyn with her family.
