Macaúba é o nome do EP de estréia do projeto Kurup, de Renato Rocha. Artista multicultural e habitante do Cerrado, Renato nunca deixou de migrar entre gêneros e estilos musicais, criando pontes entre o orgânico e o artificial; analógico e digital; acústico e eletrônico. Nessa primeira compilação, Kurup nos mostra sua intenção narrativa e progressiva, mesclando novos suportes com antigas histórias que valem a pena serem recontadas. Sua pesquisa com a música folclórica e tradicional (principalmente da cultura Latina) demonstram seus interesses em ressignificar e reinventar. A busca para encontrar novos ou antigos recursos musicais renovados representam um desejo em transcender o tempo presente. Macaúba is the name of the debut EP of Renato Rocha project, Kurup. Multicultural artist and dweller of Brazilian savanna’s biome “Cerrado”, Renato never stopped migrating among genres and music styles, creating bridges between the organic and the artificial; analogic and digital; acoustic and electronic. In this first compilation, Kurup brought to us his narrative and progressive intention, mixing new supports with old stories that worth to be told again. His research with traditional and folklore music (specially from Latin culture) demonstrate his interests about reframing and reinventing. The search to find fresh or old renewed musical resources represent his desire in transcending the present time.
