Epidermal cysts (also called sebaceous cysts) are common benign skin tumors. Traditionally, removal is done by making an elliptical incision including the punctum and excising the cyst sac together with the overlying skin. While effective, this method often leaves a large scar. In this video, we demonstrate the punch-out method, also known as punch excision. Using a dermal punch, we make a small circular opening centered on the punctum.
