In response to customer request to improve the Linestring by Station command to assist them with Beach Profile Surveys and River Section surveys that result in the creation of profile drawings using the Corridor Modeling and Drafting workflows, we have made significant changes to the Linestring by Station command. The command now provides Style creation and selection to automate the selection and definition of properties and settings to automate the process execution. A templated approach to defining Layer and Created Line names that utilize the source point layer names, source reference line names, source reference line layer names, or the source point Feature Codes or Description 1 properties. The ability to process the selected data using a single or multiple reference lines or alignments, mapping the points to the closest reference line using a maximum offset tolerance. The ability to join selected points whether they are coded or not using just the reference lines for station sorting purposes - for road operations, if you have design lines at which measured points have been captured, you can use the design lines to determine the line creation process. The new command provides extremely rapid data preparation processes to create the data needed to generate longitudinal profiles for beach erosion studies and flood protection studies as well as for creating 3D linework between imported design or measured points.
