In this video, I target black rockfish from the jetty at Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay, California, using a jigging setup designed for efficiency and results. Equipped with an 8'6" Okuma Connoisseur Medium-Heavy spinning rod paired with a Piscifun Nautix 3000 reel, I fished with 1 oz jig heads and NLBN K-Tail swimbaits. My line setup included 20 lb braided main line connected to a 20 lb fluorocarbon leader. Throughout the session, I landed 10 quality black rockfish, 6 of which met the 12-inch minimum size requirement for retention. The bite was consistent, and the conditions were ideal for working the structure along the jetty. Gear Used: • Rod: Okuma Connoisseur 8'6" Medium-Heavy Spinning Rod • Reel: Piscifun Nautix 3000 • Lures: 1 oz Jig Heads with NLBN K-Tail Swimbaits • Line: 20 lb Braid with 20 lb Fluorocarbon Leader Location: Pillar Point Harbor Jetty, Half Moon Bay, CA Whether you're new to jetty fishing or looking to refine your approach, this video provides a look at a reliable and productive setup for targeting inshore species along the Northern California coast.
