Dr. Sean J. McGrath joins the Idealist Society of North America to discuss his new volume of James Bradley’s essays as well as his own work on the vital entanglement of ecological, psychological, and theological questions in 19th-century idealism. Collected Essays in Speculative Philosophy: James Bradley showcases Bradley's innovative engagement with themes from German Idealism, British Idealism, American Pragmatism, and Contemporary Continental Philosophy. Bradley developed these themes into a strikingly original restatement of idealism and speculative philosophy. Join us Friday May 5th at 4:00 PM EST for an intimate conversation with Dr. McGrath about Bradley as well as the history and the future of idealism. Dr. Sean J. McGrath is a Full Professor of Philosophy at Memorial University of Newfoundland and an Adjunct Professor at McGill's School of Religious Studies. He has published and lectured widely on Heidegger, Schelling, ecology, theology, and psychoanalysis. McGrath is the co-founder of the North American Schelling Society and the Editor-in-Chief of Kabiri, its official journal.
