4 June 1988 – Aylesbury United became the first (and only) non-league side ever to face the full England side, as Bobby Robson brought his squad to Buckingham Road to prepare for the 1988 European Championships in West Germany by facing the recently crowned Beazer Homes League champions. The Ducks (unsurprisingly) lost the game 7-0, but created an abiding memory for any of the 6,031 packed into the stadium and all those associated with the club. Among those was Ken Turnbull, now vice chairman and a volunteer with the club for nearly 40-years. These are his exclusive photos the provide a behind-the-scenes look at this incredible day. The Ducks have now played outside Aylesbury for more than 15 years, having been evicted from the Buckingham Road stadium that hosted this game in 2006 #BringTheDucksHome Music: Scott Holmes Music Emotional Cinematic Logo and Country Road Drive Scott Holmes Music is licensed under an Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International Licence. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/...
