Ableton Live Push 2 Performance | Emergence

Hello everyone! This year begins with a new video which was a very interesting process for me, as a lot of things are going on in this performance. First of all, I had the chance to work with Behringer's Neutron synth and explore its sonic capabilities. I've set up my project to receive MIDI from Ableton Push 2, then feed it through an arpeggiator, and some velocity processing and to the MIDI input of Neutron. From there, the audio output was routed back into live which was processed in real-time with some plugins. The past year I worked hard on creating tools for live performance. This video is in a sense proof of concept as I have created some tools that would help me with my performances. The problem that I had to overcome was how can I separate the engineering process (recording, navigating through tracks, etc) from the actual creating process of playing music. For that reason after months of working on it, I created a tool that you can automate track changes, start and stop record, automate quantization of the recorded material, change monitoring modes, etc. So, as you can see in the video, I only have to play music and control automation. Everything else now is automated, meaning that I can focus more on the music and less on the technical side of it. What really changed from the previous videos in my channel is that back then I would work on a sound canvas and then practice a bit until something of interest pops out of my mind. Once that happens, then every take would have the same core, however, I had the freedom to use variations of or lay down multiple ideas. In this video, my process was different. I had to create the song from scratch and then bounce it down to stems, so I can separate it in scenes and thus create the necessary automation for my performance. I know that this was a compromise and I gave away some of my "creative freedom", however, it's way more rewarding to simply follow sections as if you are in a band.
