John N. Beck II was a California-based attorney who had an honest and successful career for many years. He was a loving father and devoted family man, but in the early 2000's he decided to get a bit more scammy. He ran a series of infomercials about "John Beck's Free & Clear Real Estate System" which promised you the ability and knowledge to purchase property for pennies on the dollar and do whatever you want with it! Naturally, this was all mostly hogwash, and John was ordered to pay 113 million dollars in fines and restitution. However, in the middle of his appeal in 2016, he boarded a train and vanished. He's not been heard of since.
