Ragnar threw a P0016 Camshaft / Crankshaft Position Sensor code in August 2022 and again September 2022 - both times I cleared the code on my cheap OBD2 reader without any further issues. P0016 then returned March 2023 when I arrived in Dallas (see the Tornado Alley road trip video) and then again 12 days later April 2023 in Amarillo (see the High Country road trip video). Again, code P0016 cleared on the cheap OBD2 reader without any further issues. Until - returning last week (June 2023). This time, I left the code in the car until I could get a more expansive diagnosis from VIDA as ECM-643A (Camshaft position, exhaust. Signal too low.) Without anyother Dallas road trip looming, I decided to replace the inexpensive Camshaft position sensor (exhaust) - it's literally less than $100 and a couple hours to complete this repair / replacement. 2002 Volvo V70 2.4T only has Variable Valve Timing on the Exhaust Camshaft. The 2001-2007 V70 Hayne's service manual only shows a camshaft position sensor on the intake camshaft - which is not applicable to our Volvo P2 engine. I couldn't find any videos showing a P2 camshaft position sensor on the exhaust camshaft - hoping this video helps you locate and access this simple repair project for your Volvo P2. Error Codes: OBD2: P0016 Crankshaft Position / Camshaft Position VIDA: ECM-643A Camshaft position, exhaust. Signal too low.
