Kenwood KR-4070 Repair, Service and Upgrade

This receiver had 15 volts DC offset at the speaker terminals and no audio. Audio could be head from the headphone jack but the tone controls had effect on the signal. Only one channel was working for the phono pre-amp. The following services were performed: Repaired the DC offset problem Replaced and upgraded the output devices Replaced and upgraded the Phono pre-amps Replaced and upgraded all electrolytic capacitors and installed audio grade and film caps where appropriate Cleaned the tuning capacitor and all the POTs Straightened and lubricated the tuning flywheel and lubricated the pulleys in the tuning mechanism Performed an alignment of the AM and FM tuning section Modified the rotary power switch using a Triac to carry the mains load Cleaned all the RCA jacks, face plate, knobs and case Full test and measurement of all functions and 24 hour burn-in
