Peter Greene Dead at 60 | Pulp Fiction & The Mask Actor Found Dead in NYC Apartment Actor Peter Greene, best known for his intense villain roles in films like Pulp Fiction, The Mask, The Usual Suspects, and Training Day, has died at the age of 60. Greene was found dead Friday in his Manhattan apartment following a wellness check, according to his manager. Authorities were contacted after a neighbor reported hearing loud music playing throughout the night. When no one answered the door, police entered the apartment and discovered Greene deceased. The cause of death has not yet been released. Born in October 1965 in Montclair, New Jersey, Peter Greene pursued acting in his 20s after moving to New York City. He made his television debut in 1990 on the NBC crime drama Hardball and later made his film debut in the 1992 indie crime movie Laws of Gravity, starring Edie Falco. Greene gained widespread recognition in the 1990s for portraying dangerous, unforgettable characters in crime dramas and thrillers. He worked with legendary director Quentin Tarantino in Pulp Fiction and appeared in Bryan Singer’s Oscar-winning classic The Usual Suspects. One of his most iconic roles came in The Mask (1994), where he played the film’s main antagonist opposite Jim Carrey. Other notable credits include Blue Streak, Kiss & Tell, and Training Day, in which he starred alongside Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke. Greene’s intense screen presence and gritty realism made him a standout character actor during the golden era of 1990s crime cinema. Most recently, Peter Greene appeared in a 2025 episode of the series Dope Thief and had multiple projects in development. Outside of acting, he was also involved in political and humanitarian documentary work, serving as a co-producer and narrator for From the American People: The Withdrawal of USAID. Peter Greene is survived by his sister and brother.
