The blood helps in transfer of nutrients. The three components it is important to understand that they have a different role to play. The RBCS carry oxygen form the lungs to various parts of the body and they help to nourish the cells. WBC’s help to protect the body from outside source of infection. The platelets are important to make sure too much blood is not most when your skin gets injured. So these are the 3 components. Blood Cancer is a generic term and it encompasses the cells mentioned. In the bone marrow there are certain mother cells that are omnipotent and they can form RBC’s, WBC and platelets and they can mature into these 3 components. Lymphomas are cancers of the lymph nodes. lymph nodes help to check the toxic substance surround the organ. The lymph nodes are made of multiple WBC and they attack the organ that they are assigned to protect. Leukemias are the traditional blood cancer. This is the component the makes it deficient for the body to function. There are 4 major classification of leukemias. There is acute leukemias that is subdivided into acute myeloid leukemia and acute lymphoblastic leukemia. You have the chronic leukemias divided into chronic myeloid leukemia and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. The chronic leukemia is highly controllable where we find patients with adequate therapy where patients can be treated for a long duration. chronic myeloid leukemia people live long with this. chronic lymphocytic leukemia was also considered very difficult to manage and now can be cured with medicines. It can be cured with bone marrow transplant. This is why it is delegated to the bottom in case of chronic leukemias. Sometimes chronic leukemia can attain aggressive form. Acute leukemia can be very aggressive and if not treated, patients can die. The acute lymphoblastic leukemia are also very aggressive and also it can be classified based on age of onsidte. When it occurs in infants and younger children, if it occurs in older adults. Lot of advanced therapeutics are available where as acute leukemia are converted.
