In my very first YouTube video I introduce a beautiful Mole Snake. Mole Snake (Pseudaspis Cana) The Mole Snake is a large, non-venomous constrictor which is common over most of South Africa. Adults average size is 1-1.4m, but can reach just over 2m. Adult Mole Snake can vary in color from black, through Grey to light brown. The Mole Snake feeds on rodents, moles, other small mammals and birds. Juveniles, which are vividly patterned and look quite unlike the adults and eat Lizards. The Mole Snake is viviparous and gives live birth to between 20 and 50 young, but much bigger clutches have been recorded. The babies are born in late summer. Although non-venomous a large Mole Snake can inflict a painful bite which may require stitches. The Mole Snake should never be killed as it poses no threat to humans and is a prolific eater of rats and other pests.
