They typically return about a month later to have the lung tumor removed. The prognosis for babies with lung lesions is typically very good, and they generally have excellent long-term outcomes. Lung lesions are not associated with other birth defects or other chromosomal abnormalities. The majority of cases are treated with postnatal surgery to remove the lung lesion after birth.
