Their 100% organic and Redmond-grown Christmas trees support the local community and keep your living room safe from the harmful pesticides used by other farms. Their farm's tree varieties include Douglas, Turkish, Nordman, Noble, Grand, Fraser, and Blue Spruce. In 2020, they operated on a reservation basis so make sure to book and plan your visit ahead of time. Here's how it works (after arriving at your scheduled time): Search their lot for the perfect tree (the lot is organized by tree variety) Tag your tree with the lanyard you received at arrival to claim your tree Pay using the tree's tag After paying, you can grab a saw and cart Cut down your tree Walk over to wrapping station Secure Tree on your car Drive away Decorate at home To learn more about Buttonwood Tree Farm, check out their link: http://www.buttonwoodfarm.com/ Here are some tips from them about proper tree care: In order to make your tree stay fresh and last long, follow these steps below! *Since we use ZERO preservatives on our organic trees, these are especially important! Steps: 1) Right before mounting your tree, cut an inch off the bottom! This prevents a sap barrier from forming, and ensures your tree will be able to drink water. 2) Make sure it always has water (could drink multiple gallons a day!) 3) Feed your tree plant food / nutrient packets. 4) Don't place your tree next to a heat source! (Fireplace, heater, direct sunlight, incandescent lights) 5) Make sure the tree sits straight in the base. Give it an hour to settle into its natural shape before decorating.
