Ethiopia 2024 - My first vlog & first week! "Meskel is a festival in celebration of the finding of the true cross upon which Jesus was crucified. It is both a religious festival and a cultural celebration of the end of the rainy season and the beginning of spring. The adey abeba flower which is native to Ethiopia signifies the start of spring and the new year" This was my first time experiencing any holiday in Ethiopia and it was so beautiful! I am not Orthodox but am very proud to be from an independent, never colonized country that's home to ancient, indigenous African Christianity! It was beautiful to see how many people were together singing and celebrating - Ethiopian culture is beyond beautiful and should be celebrated.
