This conflict was a war between the British forces and the Communist guerrilla forces who were known as the Malayan National Liberation Army. It is worth pointing out that the Malayan National Liberation Army, who were the Communist guerrillas in Malaysia, were actually fighting alongside the British forces during the Second World War because during the war, the Japanese had invaded Malaysia. It was a little bit similar to what happened in China because the Communists in China were fighting against the nationalists, but then the Japanese invaded and so the Communists actually worked with the nationalists to fight off the Japanese.
