We decided to test out the recently released Yokohama Gelandar X-AT tires. 37x12.5R17 – Load D – 3,525 Capacity – 3 Ply Sidewalls Spec measurement is 36.8” unmounted. They measure at 36” installed on the truck. We wanted a tire that would perform well off road without sacrificing the on road comfort. Realistically, the majority of miles will be on pavement (which is true for essentially every vehicle) so road manners matter. We found them to be just slightly noisier than the BFG Ko2 tires which are near silent. Light tire noise can be heard at certain speeds but nearly unnoticeable otherwise. Keep in mind tire noise does increase with age/wear so we will update you as time goes on. They track extremely well on road. No drifting or pulling. Tire wear has been minimal and extremely even on all 4 tires. Many of these miles have been pulling our trailer or hauling the camper. Off road they seem to be predictable and have had good traction in the gravel, sand and rocks. We will be doing additional testing in the snow and trails in the future. They can get a bit floaty on gravel at highway pressure and comfort is drastically increased at lower tire pressures. So far, no complaints. Quality tire.
