Attempting a Marathon Home for Christmas

Instead of my usual Christmas commute, I decided to attempt a marathon home for Christmas…. Having never run even half the distance and while carrying my belongings - it felt a terrible idea from the moment I had it - but curiosity got the better of me. Challenge has shaped many chapters of my life. At different times, I’ve experienced, approached or sought it out in different ways. Reflect on this with me as I allow a marathon to guide me through the canal and reflections on my evolving relationship with challenge, adventure and life itself. I did this as part of The ADVENTure Calendar Day 23: ‘On the Edge’. There’s something valuable in stepping to the edge of your capabilities and what you think you can do. Choosing uncertainty creates space for reflection, and opens you up to possibility, allowing the journey itself to become the teacher. The marathon was never the aim, it was to have an adventure and that lives not in numbers, but in how we meet the places and experiences along the way.
