This video was shot and edited by Fast Romantics songwriter/frontman Matthew Angus. Here's a note from Matthew Angus about the video: "Our band has six members, and they're my best friends. Canada's rules during the quarantine say that only five people can get together, and even they have to physically distance. Making a video together was going to be impossible. Hell, we even had to finish the album remotely from one another using email and video chat. So, to make the video, I travelled around with a mask and a camera, and filmed all my bandmates -- from a distance -- finding them at their own homes around Toronto. I wanted to make a collage for this song that reflected what it felt like to be so separated from my friends and collaborators, but also what it has felt like as I tried to get my head around releasing all this new music since our last album. I often have flashbacks to when we were at the height of all those old songs, working day and night making music videos for them, touring them around endlessly. The importance of the moment when you're inside of it is massive. But it feels like a dream now that we're embarking on a brand new album, with brand new songs ahead of us. I wanted the video to show what it feels like to feel that feeling, and feel it at this weird time on planet Earth. What came out was altogether cathartic and nostalgic and strangely forward looking too." And here are his thoughts about the song itself: "I wrote this song after a series of months of crippling depression. I’ve fought depression and anxiety most of my life, at times it probably nearly killed me. Sometimes it wasn’t related to anything I could control, but this time it was a self-inflicted episode. Looking back, I was paralyzed by self-doubt. I didn’t know what I was doing it for anymore. I couldn’t write. I couldn’t do much of anything except obsess about the news and chase my own tail. At some tipping point -- and I remember it was pretty early in the morning -- I forced myself to sit at the piano, and this childhood memory of my mother came flooding in. My mother is an all-powerful, unstoppable force of nature. She has more energy than an olympic sprinter, she fights through anything that comes her way, and she’s been through some tough shit in her life. When I was a kid, I’d oscillate similarly as I do now between bouts of confident, prolific creativity and unstoppable malaise. If in one of those low phases as a fourteen year old I’d be lying on the couch hypnotized by a television for too long, she’d inevitably be there, telling me to pick myself up and do something useful. I think we’d often fight about what “useful” meant back then, or I’d loathe the order and tell her to leave me alone like a good teenage soldier. But all grown up, hearing that voice in my head that morning at the piano, it all at once snapped me out of it. With her fighting spirit echoing in my mind, I think I wrote this song in twenty minutes flat. And ever since, I’ve been pretty back to normal. Sometimes a song is written with an audience in mind, but this one was written just for me. I needed a pep talk. More than a pep talk, I needed someone to kick me in the ass and remind me to start fighting the fight again. It was Kirty and the rest of the band who convinced me to record it as a Fast Romantics song, and as the world went on lockdown, it became clear it didn’t just belong on this album, but it should be the album’s title."
