Starting from the quiet hamlet of Sandwick near Ullswater, this walk offers stunning views, solitude, and a glimpse into the landscape that inspired Wainwright’s original fell listings. Although not aiming for the summit of Place Fell, this route explores the lower tops of the fell, including High Dodd and Low Birk Fell, with optional paths toward Bleaberry Knott.
