Gorleston & Hopton 4 mile walk. ( Unofficial route ) Gt.Yarmouth, Norfolk, U.K.

Welcome to Hikeaholics, Chay, Giddy and Lee out walking this one today. This is a 4 mile circular walk, starting and finishing at the Marine Parade Car Park on the cliff tops, Gorleston-on-Sea, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk NR31 6EZ. ( Unofficial route ) Around an hour and 15 mins walk, which takes in a section of the Norfolk Coastal Path. A round trip to Hopton and back, with the out section along the beach. So please check for low tides in advance, otherwise you might be scrambling over the rocks! Starting at the Car Park, head down the cliff top paths and onto the beach. It’s then a walk down the beach in a Southerly direction towards Hopton for about a mile and a half. The first set of steps you see on the beach between the Golf Course and Caravan Park is where the Norfolk Coastal Path continues, but we carry on along the beach. The second set of small steps and a larger slope leads up to the Caravan Park, but continue along the beach. We then ascend the cliffs via the next slope and end up on Beach Road / Sea View Rise in Hopton-on-Sea. At the end of the road with Potters Resorts on the left hand side, turn right onto Coast Road taking in the Old St. Margaret’s Church on the right hand side. It’s then a right turn onto Warren Road as we pass Hopton Holiday Village and the Goreston Golf Club and back into Gorleston. A right turn at the end onto Links Road and then a left at the fork onto Cliff Lane and the beach. Then a left turn and back towards the Car Park. Thanks, please enjoy !
