After stabbing the girl, Sahil kicked her multiple times and then picked up a cement block to bludgeon her. Shockingly, this brutal act occurred even as several locals and residents passed through the lane without intervening. The incident was captured on CCTV and the footage went viral on social media, showing the accused continuously assaulting the girl. In the video, after a brief pause, Sahil returns to the scene and grabs a cement block to further attack her. The police were notified of the incident approximately 30-35 minutes later. Ravi Kumar Singh, DCP of Outer North, stated, "The beat staff received information about the murder of a 16-year-old girl named Sakshi around 9:30 pm on Sunday. A police team reached the location to investigate the matter. The victim was found dead on the street. It later emerged that she was walking from another lane when Sahil intercepted her and stabbed her multiple times." Singh further revealed that Sahil and Sakshi were in a relationship but had a quarrel on Sunday. "The deceased was on her way to a friend's son's birthday party when Sahil saw her, stabbed her multiple times, and hit her with a stone. Sahil is currently absconding, and efforts are underway to apprehend him. A case of murder has been registered at Shahbad Dairy police station based on the complaint filed by the deceased girl's father," added the DCP. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed his grief over the incident, stating, "A minor girl has been brutally murdered in Delhi. This is deeply saddening and unfortunate. Criminals have become fearless, with no fear of the police. LG sir, maintaining law and order is your responsibility, please take action. The safety of the people of Delhi is of utmost importance." Responding to the incident, Swati Maliwal, the Chief of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), expressed her concerns about the safety of women and girls in the national capital. Maliwal said, "A 16-year-old girl was stabbed 40-50 times and then hit with a stone until she died. The entire incident was captured on CCTV. Several people witnessed it but did not intervene. Delhi has become extremely unsafe for women and girls. I urge the central government to convene a high-level meeting with the Union Home Minister, Delhi LG, DCW Chief, and Delhi CM."
