Welcome back! I am excited to bring this video to you guys, and am looking forward to its progress as the year goes by. Last week I signed a lease on this property and got to work right away. All of the 22 acres needed serious mowing, so a couple early mornings and late nights got the job done. After mowing, Grandpa and I decided the McFarlane Incite would get the job done. This tool did a great job after a couple passes and we then used it to work in the wheat after it was spread. We applied the wheat at a rate of 3 bushels per acre, which is a little higher than normal. We decided on this rate due to the moisture in the soil and the extra rate would help make sure the odd-shaped fields were completely covered. The landlord was concerned with erosion, as the prior farmer ripped out the terraces, which led to mud washing down the hill and into her driveway. Grandpa and I put in 1 terrace on the long hill, as we were pressed for time to get it done before the fertilizer buggy got there fast. We will see how this works, as a couple more terraces might be necessary in the future. The landlord was very happy with the progress and is looking forward to future progress on the trees in the pasture. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you next time!
