Our cross-Canada road trip wouldn’t be complete without a journey through the prairies! We stopped by the Great Sand Hills in Saskatchewan, Canada and it was such a cool experience! We took a major detour to get there but it was definitely worth it. It’s a really unique area in southwestern Saskatchewan with active sand dunes and desert like vegetation. It’s pretty far off the major routes so here are the directions on how to get there: Take hwy 32 toward the town of Sceptre. There is a museum and interpretive centre in the town where you can pick up a map. You’ll want to turn south on the road that is just east of the town and follow that down into the conservation area. There will be a few small signs and the dirt road will turn into a sand road, so you’ll know you’re on the right track. You will see a small parking lot with a sign for the Great Sandhills, and the first hills are just a short walk from the parking. We hope you enjoy watching!
