Filming Date: 14 January 2026 TRN: 263 Nothing much to catch lately ngl. My excitement for trains seems to be fading away as the days go by. However, I was very impressed upon hearing the strong decel at 1551 A1 (552F; filmed from AMK to YCK) as it resembles the C751B’s motor sound more as it even has the high pitched motor sound and the loud swells. I decided to test this bogie when 551F leads southbound, to determine whether the sound at 1551 A1 is legitimately a ‘strong motor’. Guess what? The KNS-like strong motor sound was on the acceleration instead when 551F was leading, hence, there is absolutely a worn gearbox. Most KSFAs don’t have loud gearboxes. Sometimes I hear loud resonance when the motor’s frequency changes but this is nothing compared to 1551 A1.
