Healing huge wounds and second root working of nursery stock field maple. This Acer campestre pre - bonsai material had a trunk chop and large root removed during previous work. The tree has some large wounds that need treatment in order to start the healing process in a way that may look pleasing in the future. Previously:    • Making Deciduous Bonsai From Nursery Stock...   I'm going to clean up the cuts, dress them in order to promote healing, then do some work to the roots in order to keep the root spread moving forward. When I did the first repot, the amount of root removed was quite drastic, so I had to leave one or two unwanted roots on the tree in order to ensure health. I'm going to remove them now in order to avoid developing thickness or inverse taper in the trunk base where it's not wanted.
