We’ve all heard of mystery meat and Franken-foods which is why a lot of food myths leave us with a bad taste in our mouths. Sixty three percent of adults have believed something about food they later found out to be a lie. It’s time to debunk those myths. Take it from a new study of 2,000 people. The research was commissioned by Upfield, who worked with nutritionist and member of the British Dietetic Association, Priya Tew. Twenty two percent of folks are under the false impression that a dairy-free diet leads to calcium deficiency. Thirty percent wrongly think humans *need red meat for protein, and even more think margarine is unhealthier than dairy butter. The confusion comes from so many different sources of information, so it’s no wonder a quarter of people are stumped when it comes to foods that are ‘good’ for them. The Upfield research revealed some of the top 20 food myths Americans believe. Things like: Eating fresh food is better than their canned or frozen counterparts. Eating carbs will cause weight gain. Too much fruit is unhealthy because of the sugar. And vegans can’t build muscle. Subscribe to our channel: / buzz60 Buzz60 is designed for the way we live now.
