TRIP REPORT | 5,000km and Still in Europe! | Gran Canaria to Helsinki | FINNAIR A350

Finnair Trip Report flying from Gran Canaria to Helsinki onboard one of the Finnair A350 on a very stormy day of spring. An amazing flight and what we can clearly call European long-haul: a 6h+ flight from Las Palmas to Helsinki on the Finnair Airbus A350-900. The route was full of storms, and in particular, one that was just next to Lisbon. What a storm! I think I had never seen something so big! In fact, there was a mix of tower cumulus and one cumulonimbus that were all together at the same spot. Incredible! What a monster! Our journey started with some exploration of Gran Canaria airport, as always full of tourists and interesting airlines for planespotting. We also visited the famous terrace. Due to the strong headwind on the way to Gran Canaria, our plane arrived almost one hour late (it took them almost 7 hours to reach Gran Canaria). We boarded by bus, which allowed us to get some really amazing views of the plane as we climbed the stairs. We took off towards the north and quickly set course towards Portugal. We flew next to Lisbon and entered the Iberian Peninsula. We crossed it until reaching Cantabria, where we entered the Cantabrian Sea (Atlantic Ocean) flying towards Nantes. We left Paris on our right and continued towards Brussels. From there, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden. After overflying Stockholm, we set direct course to Helsinki, where we finally landed only 20 minutes late thanks to the tailwind and an increased speed set by the pilots. About the onboard service, although this flight is as long as a flight to Canada, Finnair offers short-haul service on it. Ridiculous but true. From that, the bittersweet taste from this flight. At least they offer the possibility of preordering a meal. In my case, I took the chicken option. It was extremely tasty, one of the best I had on a plane, but it was ridiculously small! Come on, Finnair! If you want put higher prices, but give me something that fulfills an adult!! Now it's your turn! Have you ever flown with Finnair? How was the experience?
