If you asked people in the Philippines, I bet many would say that BARMM, the "Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao", is the most dangerous Region in the country. Why? Kidnappings, bombings, conflicts, and terrorist groups... that is basically what you will see about this region of the Philippines in media. And yes, there have been those issues. But that doesn't mean that the majority of people and Muslims living in this region of the Philippines and peace loving, kind, friendly, and beautiful! Which is exactly what I experienced on this solo motor travel day in Cotabato City, Parang, and Lanao Del Sur. This is my experiences in Muslim Mindanao, driving a scooter alone through what is considered "the most dangerous" places in the Philippines. I start in Cotabato City by the Rio Grande de Mindanao River... head to Parang and eat the famous Halo-Halo in the market... and finish hanging out with a beautiful Maranao community eating their locally made Dudul! *** DON'T TRAVEL ALONE HERE IF YOU AREN'T EXPERIENCED AND DON'T HAVE LOCAL FRIENDS.
