Arguably the biggest yearly tradition for the Combat Zone Wrestling promotion, it has showcased the absolute cream of the crop in the world of deathmatch wrestling, their creativity and dedication to the craft and their unique perspective to the genre. 22 official tournaments have been held since its inception, 19 people have won those with only 5 winning the tournament more than once. Tournament of Death helped establish a myriad of wrestlers on the independents and deathmatch scene as a whole for decades, and it all started on August 31st, 2002 when 10 wrestlers put their bodies and lives on the line for what they probably didn’t realize would become the beginning of a revolution in the circuit; and that is what we will be discussing in today’s video.
