I Rode Through Arunachal’s Most Adventurous Valley | GONGKAR LA LAKE | EP09

This was one of the most dangerous and extreme rides of my 30-day solo Northeast motorcycle journey. I started from Tawang and rode through one of the roughest and least explored routes towards Mago – Chuna – Gonkar La Lake. What began as an adventurous river-side trail slowly turned into a nightmare of extreme cold, isolation, and pure off-roading. The last 20 km had NO ROAD at all — just rocks, water crossings, sharp inclined turns, and unpredictable terrain that made riding extremely difficult. Before reaching Gonkar La, the final 4 km was absolutely divine yet brutal — bone-freezing cold, heavy snow, zero visibility, and complete silence. At an altitude of 15,000+ ft, the views of Gonkar La Lake were unreal and truly took my breath away — a reward after pushing through fear, exhaustion, and freezing conditions. ⚠️ Important Warning: This route is NOT recommended for solo riders. There is no mobile network, no nearby help, and situations can turn dangerous very quickly. Attempt this only with proper planning, experience, and respect for the mountains.
