RMP and AP Video over the HH Sim Lab for Clatsop CC

This video provides back ground information for how Resting Membrane Potential (RMP) and Action Potentials (AP) function. The beginning of the video works through a model of a cell, then moves into some exercises for my 200 level A&P course paired with instructions in the lab supplement for our course. The ideas covered are things that change or alter RMP, changes to the AP by increasing stimulus strength, drug impacts on AP, and refractory periods. The program shown here is the replication of the ground breaking research in 1939 by Hodgkin and Huxely on giant squid axons. It is an open access simulation created and maintained by David S. Touretzky, Mark V. Albert, Nathaniel D. Daw, Alok Ladsariya and Mahtiyar Bonakdarpour, funded by the National Science Foundation Grant DGE-9987588.
