Union Pacific Operation Lifesaver [Feat. UP 1989]

Union Pacific Operation Lifesaver [Feat. UP 1989] [Brooklyn Yard (Portland) to Clackamas] On June 26th, 2010, Union Pacific, along side with the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation, brings its "Operation Lifesaver" special to the Portland area to promote rail safety among pedestrians along the tracks and grade crossings. They also offered free rides from Brooklyn Yard Depot, through Milwaukie, to Clackamas, and return. One of the main features on this train was Union Pacific 1989 (EMD SD70ACe), the Rio Grande Heritage Unit. The other features were the passenger cars; UPP 114 (Feather River), 5483 (Texas Eagle), 7015 (Challenger), and 8008 (City of Portland). YouTube user Drewster327 and I decided to chase the train for most of the day at some select spots. We also caught the special in Coalca on its way south to run rides in Salem the next day.
