Belgium faced the Netherlands in the first of the matches to decide the 5th-8th placings. After full time the score was 2-2 and the Netherlands won in a shoot out. The opening goal was scored by Jeroen Hertzberger after 11 minutes. Then just before half time Sander Baart scored another giving the Netherlands a 2-0 lead at the interval. In the final quarter Belgium pulled a goal back after numerous chances. The goal was scored by Tom Boon. After a lot of pressure Belgium scored a dramatic equaliser with the last play of the game. From a short corner it was Tanguy Cosyns with the vital goal. The Netherlands then went on to win the shoot out 6-4..
