In June, I had a 72-hour layover in New York, which is a good amount of time for me to recover from the exhausting flight and also explore the city when my energy allows. After having a good rest on the day of arrival, I went out with one of the crew to the Whitney Museum, which offers free entry on the second Sunday of each month. The following day, I visited a Jewish synagogue hidden in Chinatown. Not only it's free entrance on Mondays, but the synagogue also provides complimentary tours for visitors. And the visit is a surprise! The main sanctuary is magnificent with stunningly crafted stained-glass windows. The tour is informative, allowing me to have a better understanding of the house of worship and the history of the Jewish people. New York is definitely one of my favorite layovers. Allowance is good and there are so many things to discover! It never bores me, and I hope you like it too.
